CO2 Equipment
Supplement your grow room's CO2 levels with our range of CO2 controllers, sensors, and pressure-reducing valves from Trolmaster and DimLux. Precise CO2 supplementation can significantly boost photosynthesis and yield when combined with strong lighting — shop everything needed to monitor and regulate CO2 PPM automatically.
Why CO2 supplementation works
Plants use CO2 as a core input for photosynthesis, and standard atmospheric levels (around 400ppm) aren't necessarily optimal for maximum growth under intense grow lighting. Supplementing CO2 to around 1,000-1,500ppm — well above ambient levels — can meaningfully increase photosynthetic rate and yield potential, provided your lighting intensity is high enough to actually use the additional CO2.
Sensor accuracy and calibration
CO2 sensors using Dual Beam NDIR technology (like our OptiClimate CO2 Sensor) offer significantly better long-term accuracy than single-beam alternatives, since the reference beam only activates briefly each month rather than constantly, meaning it doesn't drift or age the way single-beam sensors do.
Regulating gas flow precisely
A quality pressure-reducing valve, like our Magnetic Valve Pro, provides fine adjustment (1-30L/min) rather than the fixed rate common on cheaper valves, letting you dial in exactly the right CO2 delivery rate for your room size rather than overshooting target levels.
FAQ
Is CO2 supplementation worth it for a small home grow?
It can be, but the benefit scales with light intensity — CO2 supplementation only helps if your lighting is strong enough that CO2, not light, becomes the limiting factor for photosynthesis.
Do I need to supplement CO2 during the dark period?
No — plants only use CO2 during active photosynthesis, so most systems automatically limit CO2 injection to daylight/lights-on hours only.
Is it safe to run CO2 supplementation in an occupied space?
CO2 levels used for plant growth (1,000-1,500ppm) are generally considered safe for occasional human presence, but always ensure adequate ventilation and never run supplementation in a fully sealed space without monitoring.
